When it comes to goal-scoring, Wayne Gretzky is still the man. Even after all this time the former superstar still holds the most goals ever in the NHL with 894. That record currently is being chased by Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin who is currently 72 goals away from passing him.

In the meantime though, Gretzky weighed in on another Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov And his shootout style. The Great One has a beef with it because he feels that it's way too slow and should be timed with a shootout shot clock going forward.

As there is no written rule on how fast players can skate while doing the shoot out it's at their discretion. to Gretzky's point though it certainly bad optics to watch as if it's not realistic when a breakaway does happen in a hockey game.

Saying all this, Kuznetsov has an impressive success rate with the shootout as he is currently second in the NHL at 83.3%.

The Oilers' next game will be on the road against the Los Angeles Kings. Game time will be at 10:30 PM eastern on March 4th.
