Without a question, Connor McDavid has established himself as the NHL's quickest skater, and he keeps doing so every every time he's on the ice. Just have a look at this one occasion from his early years in the league, when he EASILY increases his speed to up to 40KM/HR!
During the most recent Oilers practice, McDavid continued to display his impressive speed, easily defeating defenseman Tyson Barrie in a race while skating backwards!? YUP, Backwards towards the end of the race, just to rub it in a little more- all for good fun of course!
