1000 game NHL vet denies rumours about retirement sparking talk of potential comeback

Unfortunately, it almost feels like the early 2010's era is coming to an end. Many of these stars and superstars are seemingly retiring or declining in talent, as they come towards the end of their careers. News came out today that Wayne Simmonds had recently retired, and funnily Simmonds officially shut the news down on X.

Simmonds is a fan favourite for every team he's ever played on, because of a combination of his physical play on ice and his personality off ice. Simmonds was most recently on the Toronto Maple Leafs, but is mostly known for his days as a Philidephia Flyer. Simmonds is best known for his fighting and grit, and he's put up an unreal 1,315 penalty minutes in his whole career. Hopefully Simmonds can sign a one day contract and retire a Flyer, since he was so quick to shut down the retirement rumours in the first place.
