Patrik Allvin announce roster move: Demko's return confirmed
It appears that Thatcher Demko's return to the Vancouver Canucks is drawing near with the latest roster move the team has made.
On Tuesday, the Canucks announced that they've assigned goaltender Arturs Silovs to the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks. This move is good in more than one way as Demko is returning to the Canucks' line-up and Silovs is going back to Abbotsford just in time for the Calder Cup Playoffs."General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Artūrs Šilovs has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL)." The Canucks said.
Silovs, 23, was called up to the Vancouver Canucks in March after it was announced Thatcher Demko would be week-to-week with a lower-body injury. In four appearances for the Canucks this season, Silovs had a record of 3-0-1 with a 2.47 goals against average and an .881 save percentage.
The Riga, Latvia native is having a pretty good season in the American Hockey League where he has a record of 15-11-6 with a 2.74 goals against average, a .907 save percentage and four shutouts.
Puck drop for tonight's game against the Calgary Flames, as Thatcher Demko returns to the line-up, is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.
