After an NHL coach has been fired, many pundits state that a "coaching bump" happens with players beginning to play hockey again and wins start to accumulate.

Some teams it can last quite a while other teams it does not and in the Oilers case it has lasted ever since the day they hired Kris Knoblauch and Paul Coffey. He imposed a new strategy on how players look at games and what the expectations are and it seems the team has responded well as it was laid out in this tweet.

This strategy of breaking down the season in segments is used with other coaches but it appears that it did not with former head coach Jay Woodcroft.

Since becoming coach, he has coached 45 games with a record of 33-11-1 for 67 points with a .744 winning percentage. His team is in the top 10 for goals fore, and 3rd overall for power play, Pretty good for a rookie coach.

As the trade deadline ends on Friday at 3:00 PM, the team and their fans will need to see what general manager Ken Holland can put together to help solidify the teams roster and give them a great chance to go after another Stanley Cup.
