Insider Bob Stauffer reported that the Oilers will be signing Marc Lajoie from the WHL to a amateur try-out contract until the end of the season.

Lajoie will be heading to play in Bakersfield for the rest of season and show what he can do before management decides if they want to offer him a contract for next season.

the Edmonton oilers will be signing oil kings defenseman marc Lajoie to an amateur tryout, according to
@Bob_Stauffer

The undrafted 20 year-old defenseman played on an awful Edmonton Oil Kings team this season, however was able to have a great season personally. Lajoie put up 58 points in 68 games with a 3+/- rating, which he was only one of a few players on his team to finish the season with a positive +/- rating. The Oil king defenseman's 58 points was the most points by a defensemen of his team and 2nd most points among an Oil Kings players.

It will be interesting to see how Lajoie does in the last few games of the season with the Condors as it will give him his first taste of pro hockey and will management an idea of how he plays at the top levels.
