Connor McDavid makes NHL History: League issues an official statement

When the Oilers won the 2015 Draft Lottery, they knew they'd get something special. Connor McDavid made an impact the moment he stepped foot on NHL ice.

Tonight, the Oilers' 97 added another incredible feat to his accomplishment list. He amassed his 100th assist on the season and joined a concise list of three players who'd accomplished such a thing in the past. McJesus became the first player of the last 30 years to break the barrier.

Prior to tonight's game, the Oilers captain had already scored 31 goals and 130 points in 74 outings. He'll be in the Hart Trophy discussion for the league's MVP.
